The most powerful creature on the face of the planet is probably the elephant. An elephant represents strength and has strong maternal instincts.

 

When we think of another one of the strongest forces on the face of this planet women of color must come to mind.

 

It seems the strength and spirit of an elephant is deeply rooted in women of color. From ancient times to the present, women of color have been the strength, voices and conscience of our communities.

 

The adage, “behind every good man there is a good woman” is true. All we need to do is look around us.

 

If we stop to take notice, we see the strength of these women in our every day lives. We see the strength of these women when we see single mothers holding it down. We see the strength of these women as we watch single mothers take their sons to basketball practice and their daughters to dance class.

 

We see the strength of these women as we watch mothers struggling up and down the stairs in the subway with their baby carriages and brothers not stopping to "help” unless it’s to lay their rap down. We see the strength of these women as we see their “brothers”, athletes, entertainers and successful businessmen, become rich and famous and no longer have a need or desire for them.

 

We see the strength of these women as we watch them love men who we may feel they do not need to be with. Sometimes, those of us on the outside looking in may not understand the depth of the love she has for her man or that her man has for her.

 

We see the strength of these women as we see them climbing the corporate ladder only to be sexually harassed (you are all so beautiful) or to be told that they are tokens and received their positions only as part of, “some affirmative action program”.

 

We see the strength of these women as we see grandmothers raising two or three children all over again.

 

We see the strength of these women as we watch Hollywood movies and music videos determine “for us” what is fashionable or sexy and yet not succumb to this interpretation of beauty.

 

Most of all, we see the strength of these women as we watch them continue to wait for their men to get knowledge of self and come on home.

 

Brothers, our women are waiting for us. Let’s get our thing together and not Dis-Eve our women.

 

Our women deserve only the best that life has to offer.

 

There are good women out there.Often times they are right in our faces but we do not take the time to listen to their vibrations as they pass by us or notice there inner beauty or strength.These women are speaking to us continuously. We must listen... When you see one of these women coming towards you, remember, she comes with the spirit and strength of an elephant inside of her.

 

Do not approach one of the strongest most beautiful gifts on the face of the planet with “game”.  Our women deserve better.

 

To all of the “men” who consider themselves “Players”, we will leave you with this jewel that we’re sure the women can appreciate. The strongest “game” of all, is the truth.
